( dpa ) - Egypt will send foreign minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit to the Arab summit scheduled in Syria on March 29, diplomacic sources said Tuesday.
Earlier, Abul-Gheit said that Egypt's level of representation had not been decided, but diplomatic sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur the foreign minister would be the representative.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia have accused Syria of hindering the process of electing a new Lebanese president.
Lebanon's political crisis has already damaged relations with Saudi, which plans to send an ambassador as its representative to the summit.
