Kylie Minogue Defied Label Bosses With Cancer Revelation

(femalefirst.co.uk) - Pop superstar Kylie Minogue was advised against revealing all about her breast cancer battle by her record label bosses, because they feared it would have a disastrous effect on her career.

The Spinning Around hitmaker admits she did not have the full support of her bosses at Emi and Parlophone when she decided to tell her fans about her health crisis in 2005.

Instead she chose to defy their advice in the hope of helping others get through their own traumatic experiences.

She says, "I'd be lying if I said all of my management were in agreement.

It's wonderful to know that in talking about it, I'm perhaps helping women, families and also some men with breast cancer."

Minogue told fans she was suffering from cancer ahead of her 2005 ShowGirl tour, and was subsequently forced to postpone a string of dates to undergo treatment.

She was declared cancer-free in 2006.

Meanwhile in seperate news the Pop star will never be fully recovered from her cancer battle - because she lives in constant fear that the disease will one day return.

The Australian beauty was declared cancer-free in 2006, just one year after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

But Minogue, 39, insists her trauma will remain with her until she dies.

She says, "It's not over. I still go for regular check-ups. The 'voyage' doesn't end suddenly. That's why it's so difficult to talk about it."
