Eminem's Mum Sued Over Book Deal

( CM ) - EMINEM's mother is facing legal action over the revenue from her memoirs about the rap superstar, after a man purporting to have helped put the book together accused her of cutting him out of the profits.

Neal Alpert alleges Debbie Nelson was under contract with him in November 2005, when she agreed to pen My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem: Setting The Record Straight On My Life As Eminem's Mother, under his guidance as her manager and agent. Eminem's real name is Marshall Mathers III.

But, in legal papers filed in an Oakland County Circuit Court this week (begs07Apr08), Alpert claims she went behind his back and wrote the book with co-author Annette Witheridge and publisher Watson, Little, Ltd. - effectively cutting him out of a deal which would have seen him receive 25 per cent of the book's total earnings.

The book, which hit store shelves in the U.K. last year (07), has sold more than 100,000 copies to date, but Alpert claims he has yet to receive a pay cheque for his work.

And he is now suing for breach of contract.

Alpert's lawyer, Drew Norton, says, "As her agent, he was entitled to a percentage of profits but hasn't seen a dime."
