As previously reported on Eurovision.tv , Israeli Eurovision Song Contest representative Boaz Mauda arrived in Amsterdam earlier this week for a fundraising concert in aid of the Jewish community. Little did Boaz realise the growing European media interest in him that awaited!
Boaz was expecting to give just a handful of interviews and perform in the planned concert, but it seemed that the local fans and media had other ideas. Upon his arrival at Amsterdam airport, Boaz was immediately greeted by European fans who then followed him to his local hotel.
There were over 50 journalists and reporters waiting at the hotel, all interested in interviewing and speaking with Boaz, the media reportedly came from across the continent, from Andorra to Belgium. The reporters and fans came to see and hear Boaz, described as the Yemenite nightingale. Boaz even gave a private performance to a journalist with his guitar, even before his evening concert for Karen Hayesod, the main reason for his visit in the first place.
The local concert, which was to raise money for the less fortunate was acknowledged as a great success. Boaz then went on to meet up with Hind, the singer representing The Netherlands in this years Eurovision Song Contest. They shared some tips for the upcoming contest in Belgrade. They also discovered that they were staying in the same hotel in Belgrade. They seemed to have a lot of fun together, and Boaz taught Hind how to play his song on his Guitar!
After the short visit Boaz flew back to Israel, to rehearse, and make final adjustments to his Eurovision Song Contest entry The Fire In Your Eyes.
