Patrick Dempsey's modelling dream

(monstersandcritics.com) - Patrick Dempsey wants to give up acting to be a model.

The 'Grey's Anatomy' star - who is the face of Versace's spring/summer 2008 advertising campaign - prefers the fashion industry because it is less work.

He said: "Acting is just too much work. All I really want to be is a supermodel!"

Patrick - who is currently starring alongside Michelle Monaghan in romantic comedy 'Made of Honour' - also said he likes taking risks when choosing the films he acts in.

He added to Parade magazine: "I'm not afraid to fail, even in public. It's too easy to pretend you have it together, because no one does. The more you can allow yourself to make mistakes, the better off you're going to be. That's what life is about. You're going to get thrown off, and you just need to get back on."

The 42-year-old actor - who has one-year-old twins and a six-year-old daughter with wife Jillian Fink - said he has never been happier.

He said: "I've been on a marathon run, and I've just about achieved some perspective on everything that's happened. I'm not the same person who started out wanting just to be rich and famous. I've worked hard to get to this point, so I don't worry anymore that I don't deserve this."
