Ferrari dominate both of Friday's free practice sessions

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was fastest in both free practice sessions Friday ahead of this weekend's Spanish Formula One Grand Prix, according to the dpa.

The Finn registered the fastest lap on the Circuit de Catalunya in the morning session with a time of 1 minute 20.649 seconds and followed up with a time of 1:21.935 minutes in the afternoon.

Brazil's Nelson Piquet was second fastest in the afternoon ahead of Renault team-mate Fernando Alonso.

World champion Raikkonen was five hundredths of a second faster than team-mate Felipe Massa in the morning session with Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes, 0.543 seconds adrift of the leading Ferrari. Hamilton could only manage 11th fastest in the afternoon.

Raikkonen heads the drivers' standings with 19 points after three races going into Sunday's Spanish GP. BMW-Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld, who was eighth fastest in the morning, sits second in 16, level with Hamilton, team-mate Robert Kubica and Heikki Kovalainen in the second McLaren.
