Police in newly independent Kosovo discovered Monday a large cache of weapons near the border with Macedonia, police said.
Police spokesman Veton Elshani said in Pristina that the weapons were discovered in a vehicle in a village in the Gjilan district and are thought to have been destined for neighbouring Macedonia, reported dpa.
The arms haul included 90 mortars and 47 rocket-propelled grenades as well as a large quantity of ammunition. Four men were arrested.
Kosovo declared independence from Serbia earlier this year.
