The pro-European coalition led by President Boris Tadic clearly won the Serbian snap parliamentary poll, private election-monitoring agency Cesid said Sunday.
The coalition won almost 39 per cent of the vote with a turnout of some 60 per cent, according to a forecast based on partial returns.
Tadic's bloc has come very close to reaching a majority with the pro-European Liberal Democratic Party and minority representatives.
The ultra-nationalist Serbian Radical Party, which opposes Serbia's progress toward EU membership, won only some 28 per cent of the votes cast, despite leading in pre-election surveys, dpa reported.
