A 14-year-old girl was found stabbed to death in a block of flats in central London Monday, bringing to 16 the number of teenage victims of gun-and knife crime in the British capital so far this year, the dpa reported.

Scotland Yard said the girl was found with a number of stab wounds in a block of flats near Waterloo Station. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests had been made.

The death comes only days after the Labour government launched a multi-million-pound poster and internet campaign against knife crime, amid fears that violent youth crime in Britain had reached epidemic proportions.
