One African refugee died and 19 were injured after a fire broke out in a refugee centre in Klagenfurt on Thursday, the Red Cross said.
A man from Ghana who jumped out the window to escape the fire that broke out in the morning died of his injuries in hospital, reported dpa.
Of the other injured asylum seekers, two remain in critical condition, a Red Cross spokesperson said.
The cause for the blaze is still unknown.
Some of the 50 refugees living in the home in southern Austria said people had jumped out of windows because they did not think relief units would arrive in time, Austrian news agency APA reported. dpa al ms
