German Chancellor Angela Merkel was in Ukraine on Monday for talks with the former Soviet republic's leaders on energy and NATO, reported dpa.
She was scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko during the one-day visit.
