Gerrard gives Liverpool last-gasp win; joy for promoted Stoke
An injury-time strike by captain Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Middlesbrough led through a second-half strike by Mido but an own goal from Emanuel Pogatetz pulled Liverpool level and then Gerrard curled the ball in from the edge of the box to give his side two wins out of two, the dpa reported.
New signing Djibril Cisse scored the winner for Sunderland in a 2-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur, while fit-again Michael Owen came off the substitutes' bench to score as they beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0.
Everton got their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory away to West Bromwich Albion, while Stoke City also earned their first Premier League victory with a superb 3-2 win over Aston Villa, with Mamady Sidibe snatching the three points late on.
And Hull City maintained their impressive start to their first season in the top flight with a 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers.
Later on Saturday, Arsenal will look to make it two wins out of two when they travel across London to play Fulham.
