Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla arrived in Tokyo late Monday for a five-day visit to mark the 150th anniversary of a bilateral treaty of amity and commerce, reported dpa.
The royal couple would be dinner guests of Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on Tuesday, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Taro Aso.
The couple planned to visit the western city of Nara and north-central Nagano province.
The Prince of Wales last visited Japan 18 years ago, when he came with former wife Diana.
