Afghanistan, Kabul,1, November / corr / Trend A. Hakimi/ US Special Forces have killed 16 Taliban militants in Khost province, the provincial governor stated to media.
The operation was launched in Nadir Shahkot district on Friday night after US forces came under attack while conducting a routine search mission, Governor Arsalan Jamal said.
In Ghazni, telephone companies reconnected their networks following a 10-day Taliban-imposed ban on mobile phones in the province.
The Taliban ordered telecommunications companies to switch off their signals for fear the US army and Afghan government were using the mobile networks to track and kill rebels.
The Taliban have yet to comment about the decision to turn the networks on again.
Ghazni, a central province of Afghanistan recently is turned to the main sanctuary and hideout for armed Taliban.
Due to location of this province along the high way of Kabul- Herat, the high way is changed to unsafe one in the country.
