Add the U.N. chief to the ranks of election junkies, the Associated Press reported.
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, eagerly awaiting the outcome of the U.S. election, sees the possibility of improved relations no matter whether Barack Obama or John McCain is elected.
Ban said in response to a reporter's question Monday that "I'm sure that I'll be able to strengthen our partnership between the next administration and the United Nations."
But Ban, during a news conference, also said that "even with the Bush administration ... I am proud that I have able to make that working relationship have a very positive tone."
Ban wasn't letting on, however, whether he favors Democrat Obama or Republican McCain, or exactly how he thinks voters' selection could influence things at the United Nations.
