State media is reporting that a Communist Party official in southern China has been sacked for allegedly accosting a young girl while drunk, the Associated Press reported.
The China Daily newspaper said Tuesday the official, Lin Jiaxiang, the Party secretary of the marine affairs bureau in the boomtown of Shenzhen, is accused of grabbing an 11-year old girl by the throat and trying to force her into the men's toilet of a restaurant after he asked her for directions.
The paper said Lin allegedly shouted at the parents that he had been sent from the Ministry of Transport when they complained. He also offered to pay them.
The report said the alleged incident was recorded on the restaurant's closed-circuit cameras.
