Belarus and Hungary intend to develop cooperation in providing care and maintenance of military graves, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Belarus Ferenc Kontra told a press conference in Minsk on November 12, reported Belta.

According to him, after the opening of the Hungarian Embassy in Belarus, the Hungarian side suggested that the two countries should step up work in providing care and maintenance of the military graves on each other's territory. "There are many burial sites of the Soviet soldiers in Hungary, but it is hard to say where exactly the Belarusians were buried. Additional scientific research is therefore needed. Hungarian soldiers also died in Belarus. We know the location of the burial sites, but we have to check them up with the Belarusian authorities, the diplomat said.

Ferenc Kontra expressed the words of appreciation to the Defense Ministry of Belarus for the willingness to cooperate and said that the cooperation on the level of experts will soon begin.
