A strong earthquake struck waters off western Indonesia, the U.S. Geological Survey said Saturday, msnbc reported.
The preliminary magnitude of the quake is 6.7, the agency said.
The tremblor was centered 100 miles southwest of Bengkulu, a city on Sumatra island, and was located about 16 miles beneath the ocean floor.
