Cuban President Raul Castro on Saturday attended the ceremonies surrounding the beatification of Cuban priest Jose Olallo Valdes, who lived from 1820 to 1889, dpa reported.
Olallo is the second Cuban to be beatified by the Vatican. Olallo is known for caring for the sick and wounded and for participating in Cuba's independence movement from Spain.
