Thai PM tells police not to use force against anti- government protestors
Thailand's new Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva urged related agencies not to use force against anti-government protestors, Prime Minister's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey said Friday.
Sathit said the premier urged police not to use violence against United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters.
The situation has changed, and no violent activities should happen, he said.
The UDD protesters plan to surround the Parliament on Monday to prevent the government from delivering policy statement.
Sathit insisted that there is no plan to change the venue for the event on Monday, adding that it depends on the decision of House Speaker, reported Xinhua.
