Shark attacks cleared two Australian beaches Sunday but neither victim had life-threatening injuries.

The most-serious injuries were to a 31-year-old Brisbane man who was 100 metres off Queensland's Fingal Beach among a group of dolphins when he was dragged off his surfboard. He was airlifted to hospital with a 30-centimetre gash in his thigh, reported dpa .

"The good news is that no major arteries or bones were destroyed," Fingal Beach lifeguard Stephen Leahy said.

At Binalong Bay on Tasmania's east coast a woman was pulled from the surf after she was bitten by a great white shark. Police said she was likely to be released from hospital.
