Russia is hoping that Greece's chairmanship of the OSCE will benefit this organization, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said while meeting with his Greek counterpart Theodora Bakoyianni (Greece began chairing the OSCE in January).
Lavrov said he had heard Bakoyianni speak on the priorities of Greece's chairmanship in Vienna, reported Interfax.
"In general, we back these approaches and we are ready to work with you," said the minister.
Bakoyianni, in turn, said cooperation with Russia within the OSCE "is very important to everyone."
"We know that we are talking about a very long chairmanship period," she said.
"But we will be able to make considerable progress," she said.
"Greece and Russia are at a positive level of interaction," she said.
