Two women died on Tuesday after being hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in southern Nicaragua, authorities said.
The women, who were sisters, were hit by the SUV driven by a U.S. citizen while they were waiting for a bus to go to work, Xinhua reported.
"I lost control of the car and I was not able to avoid the tragedy," said Jessica Fairfax, 47, who was also injured in the accident and taken to hospital.
The incident is under investigation by the National Police.
