Germany condemned Wednesday's "murderous attacks" on Afghan government offices in Kabul, which left more than 20 people dead, dpa reported.
The attacks appeared designed to "undermine the functionality of important pillars of the nascent Afghan political system," according to a statement released by Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
"This must not be allowed to happen," the minister said, pledging that Germany would continue to work for the creation of an "Afghan state that guarantees the security and freedom of its citizens."
At least 26 people were killed in the Afghan capital in blasts triggered by suicide bombers and gunfire as militants attacked three government buildings simultaneously.
More than 55 people were injured in the attacks, which came one day ahead of a visit by US special envoy Richard Holbrooke.
