A gas explosion in a tunnel in central China's Hubei Province killed one and injured six others on Monday, a local official said.
The accident occurred in Jianshi County of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture around 9:30 a.m., when seven workers were working in a 1,400-meter long tunnel at the Yesanhe Power Station, Xinhua reported.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital after the blast. One worker died in spite of medical treatment and the other six have regained their consciousness.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
