Deadly battle against dengue fever in Australia

Twenty environmental health experts will be sent to North Queensland to help battle the dengue fever outbreak, the Brisbane City Council said on Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
The problem of dengue fever is getting very serious in Queensland. It has recorded about 50 new cases of the debilitating, mosquito-borne disease each week, according to a report by the Australian Associated Press.
Queensland Health had requested experienced environmental health officers, field officers, together with mosquito control equipment to battle against the decease, Brisbane councillor Geraldine Knapp said.
Brisbane council officers will be sent from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, in early March, assisted with household audits, educating residents and mosquito controllers, the report said.
