Eight Taliban insurgents were killed as they came under air attacks by international troops in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province, spokesman for provincial administration Daud Ahmadi said Sunday.
"These rebels were driving a vehicle in Nadali district Saturday afternoon when the international troops dropped a precision bomb, killing all eight armed men aboard the car," Ahmadi told Xinhua.
He also said that no civilians were harmed in the incident.
Famous for growing poppy, Helamand has been serving as a hotbed of Taliban fighters over the past seven years.
