Two killed in Baghdad robbery
Two people were killed and three others injured when gunmen robbed a jewelry shop in northern Baghdad on Sunday, an Interior Ministry source said.
"Unknown gunmen stormed a jewelry shop in the Tobchi neighborhood and shot dead two people inside and stole amount of jewels," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attackers again opened fire on onlookers who gathered outside the shop and wounded three of them before they fled the scene, the source said.
Iraqi security forces rushed to the scene while ambulances transported victims to nearby hospitals, the source added.
Despite security gains in recent months in Iraq, there are still sporadic attacks that target Iraqi security forces and civilians, shaping a setback to the Iraqi government.
