Thailand on Thursday announced eight more confirmed A/H1N1 flu patients bringing the country's total cases to 46, according to Thai Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai, Xinxua reports.
Witthaya said laboratory tests have shown that four more people in a central province of Chonburi have been infected with the A/ H1N1 flu virus.
The Minister earlier said some 17 staff in charge of discotheque service of a hotel in resort town Pattaya of Chonburi have been infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus.
Hence, now totally there are 21 confirmed A/H1N1 flu patients in Chonburi, which is the destination of tourists around the world.
Meanwhile, the ministry also discovered that four school students in Bangkok are infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus, Witthaya said.
The four are the students of St Gabriel School in Dusit District of Bangkok, local media reported.
On Wednesday, a student of this school is tested positive to the A/H1N1 flu virus, which is the country's 16th confirmed case.
The school's administrators on Thursday afternoon announced its suspension of all classes from June 12 to 18 through in-house radio in the school, the website by The Nation newspaper said.
The classes' suspension is for cleaning and disinfecting the school to prevent the spread of the virus.
In the previous announcement, apart from the 17 staff of the hotel in resort town Pattaya, who have been infected with the A/ H1N1 flu virus, five other people are also confirmed of having been infected with the new virus.
Therefore, the ministry's two separate announcements see Thailand has 30 more confirmed A/H1N1 flu patients only in a day, bringing the country's total cases to 46.
