Britain to provide 43 mln USDs for reconstruction in Afghanistan

Britain has decided to contribute a fresh grant of 72 million Pounds (Around 43.37 million U.S. dollars) for the reconstruction projects in the militancy-hit Helmand province, south Afghanistan, a local newspaper reported Saturday.
  
"Half of this contribution would be spent in renovating Helmand airport, constructing roads, deep wells, development agriculture, power dam and the remaining half would invested for capacity building of government bodies in the province," Daily 8 Subh writes, Xinhua reported.
  
Governor of Helmand province Gulab Mangal has thanked Britain for its contribution for accelerating rebuilding process in Taliban hotbed.
  
Over 8,000 British forces have been stationed in Afghanistan within the framework of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) with majority of them in Halmand province to stabilize security in the militancy-plagued region.
