Four people including three children were killed and 11 injured in a bus accident in eastern Egypt, local web site reported on Friday, Xinhua reported.

The bus turned over on Friday on Qatamiya road to Ain Sukhna in Suez governorate, some 120 km east of Cairo when a back tyre of the car suddenly exploded and the driver lost control of wheel, the web site said.

Traffic accidents are common in Egypt with an estimated annual death toll of some 6,000 people. The Egyptian traffic authorities implemented a new traffic code with tougher punishments for lawbreakers as of Aug. 1 last year, in a bid to reduce road accidents.
