Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited Kumsusan Memorial Palace, where late president Kim Il Sung's embalmed body lies, at 0:00 local time on Wednesday (1500 GMT Tuesday), the official KCNA news agency said.
Kim, accompanied by senior military officials, paid homage to the late president, the report said, Xinhua reported.
Kim Il Sung, father of Kim Jong Il, died on July 8, 1994. Under Kim Jong Il's order, the former official residence and office of Kim Il Sung was renovated and transformed into his final resting place.
