Six suspected al-Qaeda militants have been sentenced to death in a Yemeni court on charges of masterminding a series of attacks on government and Western targets in the country, Press TV reported
Ten more defendants, including four Syrians and a Saudi were sentenced to between eight and 15 years in jail on the same charges on Monday.
The group was convicted of carrying out 13 armed attacks over the past two years, including attacks on a compound housing foreign workers and attempted attacks on an oil installation in Yemen.
They were also charged with carrying out a mortar attack in March 2008 that targeted the US embassy in the capital, Sana'a.
