French National Assembly evacuated on bomb alert
French assemblymen at the debating chamber of the national assembly house were urgently evacuated on bomb alert on Wednesday afternoon, Xinhua reported.
A parliament source said an anonymous call reported a bomb planted in the semicircular debating chamber around 5:00 p.m. local time, as a result, police immediately searched the region but found no suspicious packages.
As some of the environmental campaigners protesting outside the building climbed onto the roof and one lowered himself on a rope into the debating chamber, the ongoing session was already temporary disrupted before the bomb alert.
Local media said it was unclear yet whether the alert was linked to the protest by the Greenpeace campaign group that was dispersed after a while.
