Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has been offered a severance deal to leave the English Premier League club, British media reported Thursday.

The Spaniard is set to hold talks with his agent Thursday to discuss a possible exit, it was reported.

Liverpool have not commented on the reports.

Benitez's future at Anfield has been in doubt after a disappointing season in which the club finished seventh and suffered early exits from the Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup, DPA reported.

Benitez, 50, who joined Liverpool in 2004 after a successful spell with Valencia, signed a five-year contract in March 2009.

He has recently been linked with the vacancy at Inter Milan, following Jose Mourinho's move to Real Madrid.
