Del Bosque to continue on Spain bench after World Cup

Vicente del Bosque will continue as manager of Spain regardless of how the European champions fare at the World Cup, Spanish football federation boss Angel Maria Villar said Friday, dpa reported.
Villar said that Del Bosque would stay in the job "whatever happens" and noted that it would "not be a failure" if Spain did not qualify from Group H.
"I have total confidence in Del Bosque. He will continue," Villar said.
Del Bosque, took over from Luis Aragones after the latter had led Spain to triumph at Euro 2008.
The 59-year-old guided La Roja to World Cup qualification in sumptuous style, but has been under massive pressure after Spain lost 1-0 to Switzerland on Wednesday.
Spain face Honduras and Chile in their next Group H games.
