Football coach Joerg Berger dies
Former Bundesliga coach Joerg Berger has died, it was announced on Thursday. He was 65 years old, DPA reported.
Berger died after a long illness, a German publishing house which had released his biography said on behalf of his family.
Berger spent more than three decades on the coach's bench, starting in the early 1970s in East Germany.
He coached Eintracht Frankfurt and Schalke to third place in the Bundesliga and last was in charge for one match at Arminia Bielefeld at the end of the 2009 season. He also had a reputation of saving troubled clubs from relegation.
