Russia's Vera Zvonareva said reaching the finals of the Wimbledon tennis tournament is one of her 'dreams come true', RIA Novosti reported.

The 25-year-old tennis star became the third ever Russian to reach the finals of this Grand Slam tournament after she defeated on Thursday Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

"I am very excited. I have not realized it yet... But after the tournament is over I will realize that one of my dreams came true and I was able to make it to the final," she said at a news conference after the match against Pironkova.

Zvonareva will fight for the Wimbledon title against Serena Williams, who cleared the semifinals after defeating Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in straight sets 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.

When asked about her next opponent Williams, who is considered a strong favorite to win the tournament, Zvonareva said she 'does not care what everyone says' and will 'simply play tennis.'

"I will just have to go out there on the court and try to play my best tennis. And if I play my best tennis I know that I can beat anyone on the other side of the net. That is what I am going to do on Saturday," she added.

Zvonareva is currently ranked 21st in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking list and her breakthrough to the finals puts her in world's top 10 in a new list to be published on Monday.
