Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani categorically denied the presence of al-Qaeda chief Bin Laden and Taliban leader Mulla Omar on Pakistani soil, despite the United States claim that they take refuge in the tribal belt bordering Afghanistan, local media reported on Wednesday.
"If anyone has any credible and verifiable information, it should be shared with the government," Gilani said during a Tuesday meeting with a journalists organization, Xinhua reported.
During her two-day official visit to Pakistan, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday that "some elements" within Pakistani government are aware of presence of the most- hunted terror masterminds in the northwest of Pakistan.
Hillary Clinton, who participated in the Pakistan-U.S. Strategic Dialogues in Islamabad earlier this week, insisted that most of terror attacks on U.S. emanated from Pakistan as Taliban and al-Qaeda continue to use the rugged tribal areas of Pakistan as safe heaven.
"This is where the principle terrorist threat to the United States emanates from," Clinton said reiterating the accusation that she leveled in May that Pakistani administration knows Bin Laden's whereabouts.
The U.S. officials have consistently been leveling accusations regarding the presence of most wanted militants and Pakistan, the frontline ally in the U.S.-led war against terror has been denying.
