U.S. military officer to visit India

An U.S. armed forces officer, Admiral Michael Mullen, will pay a two-day visit to India from Thursday to hold talks with Indian officials on defense cooperation between the two countries, reported the Indo-Asian News Service.
Mullen, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, is expected to hold talks with Indian Defense Minister A.K. Antony, National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon and other Indian military officers, the report quoted officials as saying, Xinhua reported.
The provision by U.S. of defense equipment and technologies to India is expected to be on top of the agenda of the talks, said the report.
