French President Nicolas Sarkozy left affairs of state behind to visit his wife on the set of the new Woody Allen movie in the early hours, the daily Le Parisien reported Thursday.
Sarkozy appeared on the set of Midnight in Paris, which was being filmed in the heart of the Left Bank, at about 0200 (0000 GMT) Wednesday to watch his wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, who is making her acting debut in Allen`s film,DPA reported.
According to the report, the president stayed about two hours, greeted the 74-year-old Allen, and then he and his wife went home.
Midnight in Paris stars Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson and Marion Cotillard, and is expected to be released in 2011.
