A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Saturday, killing more than 20 people and injuring many more, the city administration policy commission said, Xinhua reported.

A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Saturday, killing more than 20 people and injuring many more, the city administration policy commission said, Xinhua reported.
   Assefa Mezigebu, acting head of the commission public relation department, said the tragic accident occurred at 4:30 a.m. local time (0130 GMT) in eastern Addis Ababa and that the death toll had surpassed 20 until 11:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).
   A low bed heavy track clashed with a mini bus, he said, adding that victims suffering heavy and light injuries are receiving treatment in various health facilities in the city.
   Surprisingly, a mother who lost her life in the accident saved her one year and a half old child from the tragic accident by throwing him away from the crash scene.
   Mayor Kuma Demekissa, federal police commissioner Workneh Gebeyehu and some other officials of the city went to the spot for an inspection.
