A 30-year old Iranian was jailed for a week by a Singapore district court for sneaking chips from roulette tables last month at two Singapore casinos, The Straits Times reported Friday.

Aminijam Amin pocketed chips worth 200 Singapore dollars from a roulette table on July 27 at the Resorts World Sentosa, when the winning player stepped away to check on his wager at another table, dpa reported.

Amin then left the Sentosa casino and went to Marina Bay Sands casino, where he played the same trick, according to the daily report.

This time, he was caught when a casino player realized that his chips were missing from the roulette bet position and complained to casino officials, said the report. The winnings were worth 200 Singapore dollars.

A third charge of stealing 100 Singapore dollars in chips from the Sentosa casino was taken into consideration at his sentencing hearing on Thursday, the report said.

Amin had faced a sentence of of up to three years in prison and a fine for each offence.
