Former Cuban President Fidel Castro met here on Sunday with Venezuelan journalists Vanessa Davis, Andres Izarra, Walter Martinez and Mario Silva to discuss the current internationals issues on which he has been warning for two months, said the official daily Granma on Monday, Xinhua reported.
Fidel Castro and the reporters analyzed the war threats against Iran and the possible nuclear war, the Venezuela-Colombia diplomatic conflict, the climate change, the "Battle of Ideas" promoted by him, and the new world to be built.
Castro and his guests analyzed also the situation of the five Cubans imprisoned in the U.S. who are accused of spying, said Granma. Cuban and Venezuelan Television will broadcast the meeting on Monday night, added the newspaper.
Castro returned to public life a month ago after four years out of power due to an intestinal surgery. On Saturday he attended an extraordinary Parliament sessions requested by him to debate the current threats against the mankind. There he urged the U.S. President Barack Obama to avoid the imminent nuclear war which could put an end to the human species. Only one man has the power to stop the war and save the peace: the U.S. president, said Castro.
