A line of more than 10,000 Chinese students flopped onto Mongolian grassland on Thursday to claim a new Guinness world record for the largest "human domino" chain, dpa reported
The 10,267 students staged the event during a traditional Naadam fair near Ordos city in China's Inner Mongolia region, local media said.
The collapse of the chain of standing students took more than one hour and the record was accepted by Guinness judges in attendance, the reports said.
It was also part of a "Hug nature, kiss the grasslands" event designed to encourage exercise and respect for the environment.
The students broke the previous Guinness record set by 9,234 students in Singapore in 2000.
Annual Mongolian Naadam fairs traditionally involve competitions in wrestling, archery, horse-racing and other sports. They are held in several areas of China's Inner Mongolia region and the separate nation of Mongolia in late summer
