Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was released Tuesday from a court-ordered rehab programme after spending 23 days at the University of California medical facility in Los Angeles, according to the gossip websites TMZ.com and radaronline.com.
The report said that Lohan left the rehab centre through a back door after doctors agreed she had made progress in her fight against alcohol and drug abuse, dpa reported.
Lohan, 24, entered the addiction clinic on August 3 after serving 13 days in jail for probation violations involving drug and alcohol use.
Because of overcrowding, prisoners in California are generally released from jail after serving only a fraction of their sentences.
