A Taliban commander along with 14 of his armed men were killed as they came in contact with security forces in Wardak province 40 km west of Afghan capital Kabul, an official said Monday.

A Taliban commander along with 14 of his armed men were killed as they came in contact with security forces in Wardak province 40 km west of Afghan capital Kabul, an official said Monday, Xinhua reported.
  
"A group of Taliban militants attacked a logistic convoy of international troops in Lalam village of Syedabad district Sunday afternoon but the troops retaliated killing 15 insurgents including their commander Mullah Fazal Rahman,"spokesman of provincial administration Shahidullah Shahid told Xinhua.
  
Mullah Fazal Rahman was a key Taliban commander in Syedabad district and surrounding areas, the spokesman further said.
  
There were no casualties on Afghan and the NATO-led troops, Shahid stressed.
   
Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
