Duo arrested in Amsterdam after flight from US
Two men on a flight from the United States were arrested by Netherlands authorities on landing in Amsterdam, ABC News reported late Monday, citing a US law enforcement source.
In the Netherlands, a spokesman for Dutch prosecutors said that the two suspects were arrested "at the request of American authorities." The men, identified as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al-Soofi and Hezem al-Murisi, had flown from Chicago and are reportedly facing charges of preparing a terrorist attack, dpa reported.
The ABC report quoted a senior US law enforcement official as saying that the men's checked baggage contained mock bombs: "This was almost certainly a dry run, a test."
