Seven killed in US raid west of Baghdad
Seven people were killed and four injured Wednesday during a raid by the forces near the western Iraqi city of Falluja, Iraqi police sources said, DPA reported.
Forces attacked several houses as troops searched for suspects in Falluja, which lies around 60 kilometres west of Baghdad. A 90-year- old woman is among those injured, sources added.
The US reduced its troop presence in Iraq to 50,000 this summer. They are supposed to be focused on advisory, counterterrorism and training missions. The US plans to withdraw all troops by the end of 2011.
