A car bomb in the Northern Irish town of Londonderry exploded in the early hours of Tuesday, causing substantial damage, DPA reported.
No one was injured, the police said.
The bomb was detonated just after midnight outside a bank near a shopping complex, where many businesses were severely damaged. Several nearby houses and a nursing home were evacuated.
"A warning had been received just an hour earlier and a cordon was in place," a police spokesman was quoted as saying by the Press Association.
